Today marks one year since the Wisconsin Supreme Court officially eliminated all levels of deference to agency interpretation of law. As we celebrate the anniversary, it is worth remembering why the decision made such a difference.

On June 26, 2018, the Wisconsin Supreme Court handed down its watershed decision in Tetra Tech. In a major victory over the administrative state, the courts will no longer give agencies any deference on their interpretations of law.

On July 31st, the Great Lakes Legal Foundation filed an amicus brief in Tetra Tech EC, Inc. v. DNR on behalf of 11 business associations.
