WMC Files in Defense of Marsy’s Law

Dane County, Marsy's Law

The WMC Litigation Center filed an amicus brief in the Wisconsin Supreme Court in defense of “Marsy’s Law,” the amendment to our state constitution that gives additional protections to crime victims. The brief, which was filed on WMC’s behalf, argues that a Dane County judge overstepped by ruling that Marsy’s Law was invalidly adopted by Wisconsin voters. The brief highlights the legislature’s and the public’s extensive involvement in amending our state constitution, noting that courts should not be involved in this lawmaking process.
