WMC Files Lawsuit Against the DNR

DNR, Surface Water

The WMC Litigation Center filed an open records lawsuit against the DNR on behalf of WMC. In February 2021, WMC made an open records request with the DNR for documents relating to surface water grants. Over a year later, the DNR turned over some requested records, but withheld and redacted others. WMC sued the DNR this week, arguing that the DNR illegally withheld or redacted five categories of records. The lawsuit seeks access to those records, attorney fees, and punitive damages.
