WMC & Others Send Letter Opposing Town Ordinance on Livestock Regulations

Polk County, WDA

The Town of Laketown in Polk County held a special meeting in January 2022 to receive public comment on a proposed ordinance that would strictly regulate livestock facilities. WMC’s Litigation Center is closely following this matter. WMC, the Wisconsin Dairy Alliance (WDA) and Venture Dairy Cooperate submitted a letter to the town board urging it not to adopt this proposed ordinance.

Last summer, WMC submitted a letter to the town board in opposition to the town’s moratorium on livestock facility licensing because the proposed ordinance would make it nearly impossible for livestock facilities to exist in the township and it might encourage other municipalities across Wisconsin to follow suit.
