WMC Litigation Center Delivers Oral Argument to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in WMC v. Evers

Tony Evers, Wisconsin Supreme Court

WMC Litigation Center Executive Director Scott Rosenow delivered oral arguments to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in WMC v. Evers, a lawsuit challenging the Evers administration’s plan to release records identifying businesses with employees who tested positive for COVID-19. Some justices raised privacy concerns with releasing the records. The court primarily focused on whether WMC could bring this lawsuit on behalf of businesses or whether individual employees would need to file their own lawsuits to protect their confidential medical records from being released. WMC’s request to add two individual employees to this lawsuit is pending in the Waukesha County Circuit Court. The Supreme Court is expected to issue a written decision sometime before July.
